Kerry A. Rogers, MD, considers how, early in her career, she underestimated the totality of the psychological and emotional effects that patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) experience in their lives, even if they are considered low-risk and do not need treatment.

As a result of her growing understanding and appreciation of the concerns of patients with CLL, Dr Rogers remains mindful of the impact that a diagnosis of CLL has on the lives of patients. In pursuit of better recognizing the patient perspective, Dr Rogers utilizes resources for patient education and support groups that can help ease the anxiety patients experience even if they don't require treatment.
